Repainting the Bathroom

Last year when we worked on the bungalow for move in I painted the bathroom a light blue.  I wanted a color that was blue with a grey tint but I got baby blue!  Well, not at all what I wanted!  As soon as I painted the first roll I knew I hated it.

OK, I know.  I should of stopped, sucked it up and just went and got a new can of paint.  Go with my gut, right?

Nope.  I painted the bathroom in a color I disliked and lived with it the past year.  Well, repainting it was on my 2011 to do list.  I don't even recall the name of the color.
That's how much I just wanted to forget about it.

Here is how it looked before I repainted.

Looking at the swatches on the wall gives a better look at the difference in the colors.  I chose Pewter Mug by Behr (bottom right color).

Goodbye...

And HELLO.  I hope to not have to paint this room again until it gets a gut job!

Now I am the touch up queen and I assure you this one is pre-touch up.  It was a pain in the butt doing touch up in here!

Oh, and a couple shots of my Ball jars (they are an addiction of mine).  The soap was a gift my sister got me from Ireland.  Smells so good!

Thanks for reading!  Happy 1st day of summer!

  1. I love the changes to the blog!! And the bathroom looks so much better! Even though it is just a different shade of blue, it really makes a huge difference! No more baby blue! And of course I think the jars look great, and the soap blends in perfectly :)

Did you do touch up by hand or did you tape it off? It came out sooo good!!

  2. Thanks Mand. I touched up with tape...the walls aren't so straight and was not so easy...Ugh. But at least it is done and now I have a color I like. How I wish tho we could gut it now and make a spa retreat...but Nick will not be doing that for a while! :)

  3. Looks good. Can't wait to see it in person. That's the kind of color I want if we repaint the entryway and stairwell. It's a very dark shade of blue right now. Kind of depressing. I told David I wanted a creamy gray-blue. Seems like what you chose.
