Rethinking White

I was thinking recently about how I LOVe color and always paint my rooms instead of leaving them white.  This sparked my interest and off I went to Google to see what other people do when leaving their white walls alone.  I was amazed by all the stunning rooms I found.  All done with white in mind but yet so different.  Here is a great article from Elle Decor on this topic too.

A lot of people intentionally decorate their rooms around a white theme.  For them it is certainly not about being lazy and not wanting to paint.  I especially LOVed when splashes of color were added to off set the white.  The great thing about this is you can change the color often since you are not committing to it on your walls but instead in the decor.  Items like pillows, curtains, vases, flowers etc. are so easy to change and you can do it as often as you like.

Many went all out and did the entire room in white but used different shades.  Walls and decor!  This was just as nice and totally unexpected to me.  I thought it would feel so boring but it made the rooms feel so airy and inviting.  I found myself loving those that were shabby chic, modern and rustic!  While browsing I easily thought of myself relaxing in them and sipping on a lemonade...

Since I have never done any decorating in white I have none of my own rooms to share.  I may have to rethink this, though!  I will at least share with you some of my fav's I found.

I LOVe the mirrors hung over the stairs and all the antique finds in
this living room!  Ahh.

The pops of color in this one are so pretty!  Very shabby chic.

Country and rustic.

Very crisp and clean.  How can you not LOVe subway tile?

With the great use of color in this one you don't even notice the white walls.

So simple but elegant.  Creative art work above the bed.

I would feel like a princess sleeping in here.  Isn't the detail on the headboard gorgeous?

I could take a bath in here every night and enjoy a glass of wine.  Couldn't you?

Have you done any white decorating yourself?  Please share!!!!!

  1. White can be nice, but color makes it feel warmer and cozier.

  2. Hello. Gosh I don't even remember how I got here, maybe cheese domes? and yes I am seriously thinking white....now if my roommate would let me paint all of his stuff! blessings, Lady.

Thanks for your comment. Have a LOVely day!!!
