Plain and Simple

One of my favorite things we bought for the bungalow is our dining table.  We got it handmade from a small Amish store in Evanston, Illinois called Plain and Simple.  It was made from scratch by an Amish family in Indiana.

From the design to the color, we knew from the moment we walked in we wanted it.  The Mr. and I didn't even need to tell each other what we were thinking.  We knew it was the one since it was just like what we always imagined.  The first time we saw it, though, we walked out without buying it.  Since it seemed so easy and these do not come cheap, we felt we had to shop around to make sure it was, you know, "the one".

Well, it was cause after looking around nothing made us feel all giddy
as that first one had.

So back we went and this is what we bought.

When picking out the style we wanted an arts and crafts set that would fit in with the look of the bungalow.  Our set includes the Aspen table and six Hartford chairs all in quarter sewn oak.  We debated over regular oak and quarter sewn because of the price difference.  We knew we would regret it if we didn't go with quarter sewn so that settled it.  It was well worth the extra money!

One of the things I love about this set is how study and solid it is. I knew it would last forever and we could someday pass it down to our children.

He he little Kona butt.
