Prepped and Hung

OK.  So I am a little lot behind.

Well, first I was preppy.

I bought a couple windows from Kane County Flea Market.

Broke the glass out.

Sanded them down.

Re-painted.  De-stressed.  Antiqued.

Added on chicken wire.

Go ahead and check me out Being Preppy.

Now they're all hung in the dining room.

I LOVe the chippy look.  Not over done but gives a vintage feel.

Our windows are the perfect place for displaying favorite photos and the things we LOVe.

Best part is we can change those items out anytime we want!

Have a LOVely weekend!

  1. Love them!! I had a window similar to that and I put a mirror in it. It hangs over my fireplace!

  2. What a super cute idea! I love that it's got just the right amount of vintage to it. Plus it's something I can do without hurting myself... I think. :) Thanks for the great idea!

  4. Great idea! Where do you get the tiny clothespins. It's all in the details. Love what you did here.

  6. Looks cool, but let me tell you. Chicken wire isn't always the easiest to work with. Lots of sharp edges when your cutting it. I'm sure these weren't the easiest to build. Blood and and sweet went into making these I'm sure!!! Just adds character and a story behind it. Nice work!

  7. Do you have any for sale? I'd love to buy some for my place as I don't think this is as easy to make as it sounds. Nothing really is. LOL! Safest thing to do in my opinion is to leave it to the pros and just buy some from them!

  8. Thats really cool. Also if the window has a sill you can lean photos on it to give a different depth to the photographs/art. I love these.
