Yeah I'm not sure that sounds so good coming from a born and raised city girl. And one from
Chikago. At least that is how us Chicagoans say it...we put that extra stress on the "ca".
Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a bittersweet one. The last one of my maternity leave. Now back to the day job. Which just in case you're wondering I work in property management. It's not too exciting but it helps pay the bills. I am so sad to be leaving my girls, tho. It's gonna be a rough first week.
I used this past week working my butt off getting ready for Kane County Flea Market. Practically nonstop. I've been so tired at the end of each day just passing out and my back feeling all soar.
One fun item I will be selling in my booth are rustic paper flowers. I also have them for sale in my Etsy shop.
Here's what I started with.
I cut flowers from three handmade templates I freehanded using cardboard. Each template is slightly different in size from one another. Using three different pieces of scrapbook paper I traced the templates and cut out the flower patterns.
I then glued the pieces together with the largest on the bottom and smallest on top.
Then to adding the stem. I used a stick. Rustic, huh?
Yeah, I thought so too.
And how did I perty up the back? Well, added some burlap. Rustic again, huh?
On the center of the flower I added a button and I folded in the edges of each petal.
