Cozy Up

Hope you had yourself a very merry Christmas.

Ours was wonderful and as always crazy.  Lots of gifts everywhere!  Paper flying around as we all excitedly opened up our presents.

Sadly our little Annie has not been feeling so well.  She has a bout of bronchitis.  Not the best first Christmas but she still gave us lots of happy smiles and seemed to enjoy it all.

One of my fav gifts this year was a cowl from my sister.  Guess that was a hint I cannot steal hers anymore :)

For some reason it makes me think of the movie The Holiday.  Especially when Cameron Diaz is all cozy lounging in Kate Winslet's house.

I seriously LOVe that movie!!!

Well time for me to cozy it up some and enjoy the holiday season a bit more before all the decor comes down on New Years.

My cowl scarf is from H&M.  I looked online to list a link but I don't see mine on their site.

Boo!

I checked out Etsy and right away found this one here that I LOVed and thought had a very similar feel.

If you're interested check it out from Peony Knits here.

Yep that is me indulging myself in Miss Mustard Seed's Inspired You.  Another Xmas fav for me.

Don't hate!

Merry Wishes

Do you ever feel like you never have enough time in the day?  Yeah me too.  Lately it feels like that a lot.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better...or maybe life is always crazy busy.  I think sometimes I run better on crazy, though.

Oh, still want to see our family pic that made the holiday card cut?

I thought so.

These cute little things are from Pear Tree Greetings.  I seriously LOVe this site for cards and such.  I stumbled upon them when I did Annie's announcement.  They have super cute designs and for great prices.  Really.  I do not like spending a lot on cards and I think they have good prices.  And nope.  No incentive for me telling you that.   Just a good old fashioned opinion.

The cards I picked are postcards, which I think is the best part.  A lot easier too since I didn't have to stuff and seal (I hate the licking part.  Yuck!) all sorts of envelopes.

Out of all the pics there was just something so special about the one I picked.

My sweet Annie's playful smile.  Bub protecting her and LOVing her as she always does.  It could not have been more perfect.

I even kept one up for us to enjoy.

Now go out and have yourself a LOVely Friday!  I am heading out for some more Christmas shopping!

Holiday Cards Done? Check!

I LOVe this time of year but not some of the tasks that come along.  Holiday cards are always SO much work and every year I wait until the very last minute to get them done.  ALWAYS.

Not this year friends.  We took a family pic on Thanksgiving and I already have the cards sent out.  Phew.  Not a slacker this year!  I was even impressed with myself.

Now for the picture taking part.  NOT so easy.  Ugh.  A major challenge trying to get a good pic with four of us.  Even harder since that included a 4 month and 4 year old.  It was also super cold outside and we took the pics with no coats.  Don't let some of the pics deceive either.  It looks nicer outside than it really was...This is when I miss that wonderful California weather we had when we lived there after college...sigh.

A big thanks to my sis for being the photog again.  Couldn't have these shots without ya!

These not so good ones crack me up.  The bloopers of that day!

And the pic that made the cut?  Well, guess you'll have to wait and see!!!

Oh!  Make sure you go by and visit Story of My Life.  My "Merry" banner is being featured and you can see how another Jenni's holiday card came out!  (Those who call me Jenni know I only go by Jenni with an "I" of course!)

Random Thoughts

Do you ever have that night when you are up endlessly and just think away???

I do all the time.  I get sleep.  Really!?!?  Not as much as I'd like of course.  But I sleep.  Too often though it takes me forever to dose off into dream land.

I lie awake thinking away, worrying, and rummaging through everything I need to do.  I'm a perfectionist so my rummaging goes on and on...

Here is what my mind raced through last night...

I need to get to Target and get some groceries.  (Pretty sad that my 4 year old is telling me we need groceries...) (Just so you know I'm at Target about 3-5 times per week (Yeah I'm a junkie) so even sadder that I have zero food in the bungalow right now!  Unless random cans and boxes of food counts...) (I do have formula and cereal for Annie so at least she is taken care of, right???)

Oh no I think I forgot to shut off my heater at work!  Oh wait I did.  Umm maybe I didn't!!!!  OK retrace your steps, Jen.  Did I?  Sigh.  I really can't remember.  Probably did, though.  I worry about this all the time and it is always off when I get to work.  So stop worrying about this for the billionth time!

Ugh I need my inhaler.  Oh too lazy to go and get it.  But I can't breath so well right now.  OK seriously???  Stop thinking about it.  OK I'm going to get it. (I get up and get it) (Reluctantly)

Which thinking of health, that stupid doctor.  Why the heck can't they call me yet with my CT results.  I've been waiting like two weeks now (OK only 4 days) but I just want to know that I have lung cancer already so I can get on with my treatments. (FYI - I do not know that I have this and I am a self proclaimed hypochondriac) (Don't laugh.  I'm serious.)

WOW I cannot believe Annie is 4 months old. (I am getting old (sigh)...)  Oh I need to take her 4 month pic! Especially since I didn't get to the one I needed to do for her 3 month photo.  Yeah thanks sis for reminding me over and over about this one.  Little miss perfect!  :)

I really need to get on with my Xmas shopping.  Nobody is going to have anything under the tree for them. Stop waiting until the last minute to get it all done.  Why can't I be like my perfect sister and have my nice list ready for what I am going to buy for everyone.  Hate her...not really...just mad that I am not as good with this as she is...I'll just have to steal the ideas she has on her list...Ha!  Take that!

Oh darn I should of checked my Etsy shop once more before bed.  Oh well.  I'll just check it in the morning.  I really should of put more things up for sale on it.  I am so tired, though.  I need to, though.  Maybe this weekend.  No, I really need to add some tomorrow.  Actually I should really start painting all that furniture in my garage.  The poor Mr.  I know he is probably strangling me in his mind everyday.  Poor man has no space to himself.  At least he has us, though, right???  Umm I'm not so sure that makes him feel better about it....

Oh it really goes on and on and this is just the stuff I am OK with admitting...

Well hope my random thoughts make you feel better about yours.  Or at least lets you in on my hidden craziness!

LOVe you all!  Thanks for listening :)

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Oh so excited.  LOVe this time of year!  Can't wait until Christmas.  Bub is so eager for it to come and has a list of about 100 toys she wants to ask Santa for.  We keep trying to explain to her that she can only ask for a few things but try explaining that to a 4 year old...I've given up!

At the bungalow it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  I even started putting up decorations before Thanksgiving.  Not even done with one holiday and already onto the next.

Tree is all trimmed.

Are you a white lights or colored lights person?  I've always been a fan of white lights myself.

LOVe that you see my reflection in this one.  "Well, hello there!"

I'm so happy with my tree this year.  I'm 33 years old and still had all kinds of ornaments from when me and The Mr. first got started.  All plastic and cheap.  Well, this year I threw those crap ones out and hung only good ones.  I like to call them my "adult" ornaments...as if I'm one myself...

I also changed out a lot of the decor I place around my living and dining rooms.  I worry, though, it is too plain.  Blah.  I like how it looks and tend to lean more towards simple but after seeing what fellow bloggers have done I feel they've all blown me away.  You would think they may have put out too much but it all looks sooooo heavenly.

Tell me what you think and PLEASE be honest.

I'm in LOVe with my reindeer.  Is it OK to be???  Hmm.

Upcycled Jewelry Boxes

A new favorite thing of mine to paint are jewelry boxes.  Already so pretty and even better after they've been upcycled.

This was a suggestion of my fabulous sister.  She had bought one for Annie as a sweet "welcome" gift.  Ever since she has been finding a bunch for us and we've been busy painting them up.

Tell us what you think about them!

This sweet heart piece has already sold too!  It went to a friend of mine and I know it will be taken care of very well!  I hope his wife LOVes it as much as I did.

It is painted in Annie Sloan's Paris Grey.  The real stuff this time!  Distressed and sealed
with a clear wax.

Another one all ready for a new home is this LOVely gal.

I cannot get over the details on this one.  The detailed legs.  The hardware.  The wood
showing through the paint.

She is painted in Annie Sloan's Louis blue.  I distressed and sealed it with clear and dark wax.  I LOVe using the dark wax but it does take time to know how to use it.  You use too much and the look can be way off.  Use it right and the piece ages perfectly.  The wood gets pronounced more.  It really can be perfection.

The Louis Blue box is available here

Hurry up and check her out.  She will go fast!
